With a passion for supporting the development of people's skills and understanding of complexity; David enjoys working with businesses to see how they can develop through improving their processes or investing in their people.
Work Experience: David has worked for a large charity for 17 years either within Community Training, Learning and Development or Information Technology Departments. As part of these roles, David has managed teams of staff and volunteers, provided day to day management and professional development. During this time, David has developed training courses, written induction programs for trainers and maintained trainers skills.
David has project managed the implementation of all Wales Learning and Development department, recruiting a new team, introducing new processes, new IT systems, investing in equipment and upskilling the existing trainers.
David has project managed changes to the UK Learning and Development, supporting changes to the way L&D worked ready to meet the introduction of a new HR and Learning system.
David has supported the restructure of Learning and Development to a UK function, writing the trainer's handbook, supporting the development of new processes and drafting weekly communications individualised to the various stakeholders on the forthcoming changes.
External Experience: David has volunteered as a Community First Responder and volunteered for the British Red Cross First Aid teams. David has organised and managed first aid teams at charitable events, long bike rides and pop concerts in the UK, as well as providing first aid cover at the Grand Prix in Monaco.
David has supervised young people undertaking their Duke of Edinburgh Award on the hills of Gower, Llandovery, the Brecon Beacons and Powys.
David is a keen scuba diver, currently qualified to RAID Rescue Diver.
Fun Fact: David volunteered in Kosovo with a small team from across Europe to train the Red Cross, Ambulance Service, Police and Fire Brigade on how to run Emergency Response exercises, providing the skills to test their resource's ability to respond to different incidents.
